Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is currently an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from age nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her get her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was hired by the CBS station to work as an sports reporter. In 2009 she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Covering stories related to drug trafficking and immigration from both sides of the Mexico-Texas border, she was reporter for news on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm. She was a news reporter on English until 9pm, the news anchor was on until 10pm before returning back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. The duties of anchoring for weather or sports were often requested. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she has more responsibility. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted as anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She held the same position in Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents hail of Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. Also, she has an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. Her parents divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. It was on a summer vacation that she stayed with her sibling living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta was a senior in high school with an idea of what she would like her life to be, visited Mount Union University in order to find out whether the university was suitable for her. It turned out that she liked the campus, and the university offered the major she wanted. After completing her studies, she was admitted to the university as a major studying media and communication studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of the class, established an ongoing friendship with the student. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her by his love of journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
